Google Business Profile audit questions

Straight answers before you ask for your audit call. More are on the full FAQ.

What is a Google Business Profile audit?
A Google Business Profile audit is a close look at the listing customers see on Google Search and Maps. It checks your name, categories, address, services, photos, reviews and policy compliance, and shows what to fix so customers choose you.
What does your Google Business Profile audit cover?
We go through your listing setup, categories and services, address and service area, description and details, photos and video, reviews and replies, buttons and tracking, updates, and Google's policies including suspension risk.
How does the audit call work?
We look at your public listing first, then follow up by phone. We go through what we found one area at a time and answer your questions.
Is the Google Business Profile audit free?
Yes. The audit is free, and you decide what happens after the call.
Do I have to give you access to my profile?
No. We review your public listing, and on the call we may ask you to read a detail or two that we cannot see.
My Google Business Profile is suspended. Can you help?
We can tell you on the call what we see and what is likely behind the suspension. Reinstatement help comes with every service, with a lower rate with lead services. Google makes the final decision, and no one can promise a profile will be reinstated.
Why do Google Business Profiles get suspended?
Common reasons include a business name with extra keywords, an address that is a P.O. box or virtual office, a business that does not meet Google's eligibility rules, repeated changes that make the profile look different from the real business, and fake or paid reviews.
Can I hide my home address on Google?
Yes, if you travel to your customers. Service-area businesses can hide the street address and list the areas they serve instead.
Do reviews affect how my business shows up on Google?
Google says local results are based on relevance, distance and prominence. Prominence includes how well known a business is, which reviews and ratings can reflect. Reviews also help customers decide whether to call you.
Can you remove a bad review?
Only if the review breaks Google's content policies, such as spam, fake reviews or reviews not based on a real experience with your business. We can show you how to flag it. Honest negative reviews stay, and a calm, factual reply helps.
How is the scorecard score worked out?
Each answer is worth points: Yes counts as full credit, Not sure counts as half and No counts as none. The score is your points divided by the points available for the questions you answered. It is a quick self-check, not a review of your real listing, which the audit call looks at.
What if I do not have a Google Business Profile yet?
We can create or claim one for you, set it up fully and verify it. The scorecard still shows what a complete profile looks like.
