What we do and who it is for

60+service industries, each with its own trade page

What does Page One Calls actually do?
We build the website and Google profile that customers find when they search for your trade. With lead services we also run your ads, send exclusive leads to your phone and report on every call.
Which industries do you work with?
We work with more than 60 service industries, from roofing and plumbing to cleaning and landscaping.
Do I need a website before I sign up?
No. A website is part of every service. We build it around your trade and the areas you serve.
Can you cover more than one city?
Your website gets pages for each area you serve, and larger setups cover your whole metro.
Do you work outside the United States?
We serve businesses in all 50 states and Canada.

Next, the questions about leads and results.

Leads and results

What a lead is, what to expect from them and how you can tell they are working.

Shared lead
Sold to several. You race to answer.
Exclusive lead
One call. One company.
Spam creditedWrong numbers credited
How many leads should I expect?
No one can promise a number, and we do not. The count depends on your trade, your market, your service and how much you spend on ads.
How will I know the leads are working?
With lead services, reports show each call, what the customer wanted, which source sent it and which jobs booked. You see the results behind every lead instead of guessing.
What counts as a lead?
A lead is a real customer reaching your business by phone or request. Spam calls, wrong numbers, repeat callers and calls from outside your area are reported and credited back.
What makes a lead exclusive?
An exclusive lead goes to one company. A shared lead is sold to several, so you race the others to the phone. With lead services a trade in a market is held for one company, so we never sell the same lead twice.
What conversion rate should I expect?
We do not promise one. How many leads become jobs depends on how fast you answer, how you price and how your reviews look. Cost per booked job is the number that matters, and the calculators on our comparison pages let you test it with your figures.
Can I choose the jobs I want more of?
Yes. Tell us the work that pays best for your crew and we point your ads and pages at it.
How do I turn more leads into jobs?
Answer fast, follow up from your CRM, send a clear quote and ask every happy customer for a review. People who call are ready to hire, so speed and a clear next step matter most.
Does Page One Calls promise rankings or booked jobs?
No. We work toward page one of Google and report every call, but no one can promise a ranking or a booked job. Be cautious with anyone who does.

Leads come from a strong Google profile. Here are the profile questions.

Google profile, address and reviews

How your listing on the map works, what to do about your address and what to do about reviews.

Your CompanyYour trade in your town
123 Main Street, shown on the map
Serves your whole areaNearby townsYour neighborhoods
Hide street address, show service area

A service-area business can show the areas it covers instead of a street address.

Do I need a Google Business Profile?
Yes. It is the listing that puts your company on the map with photos, reviews and a call button. We create or claim yours and set it up fully.
Can I use a P.O. box as my business address?
Google's guidelines do not accept a P.O. box or a virtual office as a Business Profile address. Use a real address where you work or serve customers, and talk to us about how to set it up.
Does my street address have to show on Google?
Not if you travel to your customers. Google lets service-area businesses hide the street address and show the areas they serve instead. We set your profile up to match how you really work.
I work from home. Can I still have a profile?
Often, yes. Google's guidelines center on whether you serve customers in person, either where you work or at their location. We help you set up the profile so your home address stays private where Google allows.
What is a service-area business?
It is a company that goes to its customers, such as a plumber, cleaner or landscaper, instead of waiting for them at a storefront. Your profile lists the areas you cover so nearby customers can find you.
What happens if Google suspends my profile?
We handle it. Reinstatement help is available on every service, and members with lead services get a lower rate.
Can I get a bad review removed?
Only if it breaks Google's content policies. That covers spam and fake reviews, reviews that are not based on a real experience with your business, and reviews that attack or harass a person instead of describing the service. You can flag a review like that and we help you do it. A review that is simply negative stays up, so the best answer is a calm, professional reply and more good reviews, and we help with both.
How do I get more reviews?
Send your review link to customers right after a job goes well. Every service includes a link you can send, and your best reviews show up where new customers look.
Do my business details need to match everywhere?
Yes. Your name, address and phone number should read the same on your website, your profile and the listings customers use, so Google trusts that they all belong to one company.

Beyond the profile, here is what to know about websites, ads and SEO.

Websites, ads and SEO

How your site, your ads and free search fit together, and what to do if you already have some of it.

Google AdsSearch ads built around your services
Local Services AdsCall-first listings above the map
SEOFree search results for your site and profile
Is a second website a problem?
It can be. Google's spam policies target sites created just to rank for similar searches, and two sites for one business can compete with each other. One strong site built around your trade and areas usually does more. Tell us what you have and we will recommend what makes sense.
Can I keep my current website?
Tell us about it when you ask about your market. We look at what you have and recommend the best path instead of assuming you need to start over.
What are Local Services Ads?
They are the listings at the top of local results where a tap calls your business. We set them up and manage them with lead services.
How are Google Ads different from Local Services Ads?
Google Ads are search ads we build around the services you want more of. Local Services Ads are the call-first listings above the map. Lead services use both, because customers see both.
Why does my site need new blog articles?
Customers ask Google specific questions, and blog articles and answers on your site help you show up for more of them. Lead services publish new blog articles and add answers to your best pages.
Will my website work on a phone?
Yes. Customers often search from a phone, so your site is built mobile-friendly with a call button and a short request form.
Can customers book on my website?
Your website has a request form that goes straight to your CRM and a call button for customers who would rather talk. If you want to know how booking could work for your business, ask when you check your market.

Once the calls start, here is what happens with follow-up and reports.

Calls, follow-up and reports

What happens when a customer calls, how you follow up and how you see the results.

Missed call from a customer
Thanks for calling! We saw your call and will be right back with you.
Saved in your CRMName, number and what the customer needs
What happens when I miss a call?
With lead services the caller gets an instant text, so the customer hears from you instead of dialing the next company.
What is the CRM, and do I have to use it?
It is a simple place where every request lands with the name, phone number and what the customer needs. It comes with a mobile app, so you can follow up from the truck. You do not have to use it, but nothing slips when you do.

Contracts and getting started

What you commit to and how to get started.

No long-term contractChange course as your crew changes
Is there a long-term contract?
No. Every service is free of long-term commitments, so things can change as your crew does.
Can I pause or stop?
Because there is no long-term contract, you are not locked in. If you need to change or stop something, tell us and we will work out the right setup with you.
How do I get started?
Tell us your trade and where you work using the form on this page. We check that your market is open and tell you honestly whether we are the right fit.

Curious how this compares with marketplaces? Read on.

Compared with marketplaces

How we differ from the platforms contractors already know.

Marketplace
Job→ProProPro
Page One Calls
Search→You
How is Page One Calls different from Thumbtack, Angi, HomeAdvisor, Bark and Networx?
Those platforms send a customer's request to pros who pay to answer it, and a request can reach more than one of them. We build your website and Google profile so customers find your company directly, and with lead services the lead is yours alone. Each platform has its own comparison page.
Can I use a marketplace and Page One Calls together?
Yes. Some businesses keep a marketplace for small jobs and build a page one presence for steady work.
Which comparison should I read?
Read the page for the platform you use: Thumbtack, Angi, HomeAdvisor, Bark or Networx. Each shows how its model differs from ours and has a calculator for your numbers.
